Here’s our story

Mark spent 20 years in the Royal Navy and 15 years with the NHS and Carol has worked in accounting for 35 years.  We both decided we needed a change in lifestyle and started looking for opportunities to work together and enjoy more of life with our Irish setters

We have loved travelling and have been all over the world, but each time we went anywhere our dogs cost almost as much to stay as it cost us to travel, and we hated leaving them even though they loved the family they stayed with. So we decided to look for a farm in Devon and design holiday lets where we would like to stay with our dogs. After 2 years of searching we bought Strawberry Bank, and then lock down happened, which put us back a year. Finally we opened Nuthatch for Christmas 2021, Pipistrelle for Easter 2022 and Kingfisher for Christmas 2022.

We've converted all our small barns, with one fully wheelchair capable, and updated the farmyard.  Modelling a holiday experience after one we'd like ourselves, we've tailored each cottage for dog owners and families alike with private terraces, hot tubs  and bbqs.  There's a dog walking paddock, a dog towel exchange and washing facilities for dogs (and kids) after a day in the fields or on the beach.  Come and relax in your own luxury cottage or spend the day exploring the North Devon and North Cornish coastlines.
